Clubs and Organizations

National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is one of the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding junior high students. NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character, citizenship, and responsibility. Membership truly lays the groundwork for lifelong success.

Students maintain a grade average of 85% in all classes. Students are required to earn at least 5 service hours in the school year.

Meets: Meets regularly and participates in at least one service project per year, a school dance fundraiser, and opportunities are provided for students to give voluntary contributions to appreciate the teachers on campus.

A Schoology Code can be obtained by the Sponsor to receive updates and calendar events.

Contacts: Sherri Olson

We meet every other Tuesday.  Right now, we are meeting every Tuesday morning until after the dance.

We have an Induction Ceremony in May to induct all new members into the club.

Yearbook

Students are responsible for the creation of the school's yearbook: everything from the design of the pages to taking pictures and writing stories and captions. In this "info age," the skills and experiences in managing information are vital and powerful. Being a yearbook staff member offers students the opportunity to gain life skills, assume responsibilities, and have great fun at the same time. Students will gain knowledge in desktop publishing, journalistic writing, digital photography, and advertising.  Good communication, responsibility, and organizational skills are a must. Obtaining pictures and finalizing the book may require a few after school commitments. Yearbook is a 7th and 8th grade elective.

Meets: Yearbook class is held in room 234.
