Extracurricular Activities

We encourage our learners to join clubs and extracurricular activities because we believe that participation goes hand in hand with personal growth and academic success. If your child is a military-connected student, they are eligible to join extracurricular activities at school regardless of application deadlines. We make reasonable efforts to include military children in all activities.

Here's what you need to know:

• Eligibility: Your child can participate in activities even if application deadlines have passed.
• Information access: We provide all relevant information about extracurricular activities and clubs throughout the year.
• Communication: We ensure our families have access to all available communication channels for activity information and announcements.

Junior Student 2 Student® (JS2STM) is a student-led and faculty-advised program with the mission to take care of new students. The SC Lee JS2S program shows students their new campus and community. It provides fun ways for new students to get to know other students and encourages new students to perform better in school.

Providing Academic Records

When a student moves from one school district to another, educational records are shared directly between the districts to support a smooth transition. The process includes the request being initiated by Copperas Cove ISD.

Once the family enrolls the student in a new school/district, we submit a formal request for the student's records. In Texas, districts typically use the Texas Records Exchange System (TREx) for this purpose, which allows electronic transfer of academic records, discipline history, and other required student information.

Program Information

CCISD offers free full-day Pre-K to 3 and 4 year olds for qualifying families.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for Pre-K in Copperas Cove ISD, the student must be either 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1st of the school year for which you are enrolling and meet one of the following requirements:

• Foster Care
• Star of Texas Award Qualifier

STAAR Test Requirements

Texas State law requires graduating students to have passed the STAAR End of course tests in the following subjects:

• English 1
• Algebra 1
• Biology
• English 2
• U.S. History

Out of State Transfers

What are the STAAR graduation requirements for a student who moves into the Texas public school system from out of state or country or from a private or home school?

The requirements depend on where the final course credit is earned, regardless of whether the final course credit earned is a partial credit for the first or second semester. A student whose final course credit is earned in another state, another country, a private school, or a home school for a course in which there is a corresponding STAAR EOC assessment

• is not required to take the corresponding STAAR EOC assessment to fulfill his or her graduation requirement if the Texas public school district or open enrollment charter school accepts the course credit from the entity outside the Texas public school system in which the course was taken, or
• is required to take the corresponding STAAR EOC assessment to fulfill the student's graduation requirement when he or she takes the corresponding course in the Texas public school system because the Texas public school district or open enrollment charter school does not accept the course credit.

Fine arts credit should be attained in either 8th or 9th grade through one of the following courses:

The PE requirement should be met in either 8th or 9th Grade by taking one of the following
